Watch Out for Mold Growth in Places Where Moisture is Trapped
What are molds and where do they hide?
Molds belong to kingdom fungi along with other eukaryotic organisms such as mushrooms and yeasts. Mold is likely to grow and procreate swiftly in areas with excess amount of moisture. High moisture levels point toward weakness or vulnerability in the structure of the area from leaks. The accumulation of moisture happens when there is not enough ventilation to drive them out from routine checks that involve the use of water such as bathing, washing and cooking. Places that are commonly dwelling areas of molds are the bathroom, basement, crawl spaces, kitchen area, living areas such as the dining room, living room, bedrooms and dens and basically just about every place in the house that has moisture.
Why is it considered dangerous?
Molds discharge spores and chemicals that have been known to pose health risk to child-bearing women, infants, the elderly, people experiencing health problems concerning the respiratory system and those people who have weak immune systems. Common manifestations that a person has been exposed to the chemical discharge of molds include headache, fatigue, dizziness, wheezing and sneezing, shortness of breath, congestion of the sinus, coughing, irritation of the eye, nose, throat and skin, and nausea.
